Allie's Story

Allie is a one year old Yorkie. She was diagnosed with MVD when she was 8 months old. She started having wobbley drooly episodes when she was 2 months old but we were told they were caused by low blood sugar.

Four months later when the episodes didn't stop our vet did blood work on her and thought she had a liver shunt. She went to UGA for testing and surgery but was diagnosed with MVD instead.

Allie is a 4 pound dog so the problem is so microscopic they can't fix it. She will live on two different types of medication and prescription dog food for the rest of her life.

We are hoping we have her for many more years. She has not had an episode in 3 months and counting.

She is our old child and we love her dearly!
